Understanding the Costs of Your Care

I understand that cost is an important part of any health decision, and I aim to make this part of the process as open and supportive as possible. Please know that each piece of information is here to help you make the best decision for yourself.

Out of Pocket

For those paying out of pocket, my initial visit fee is $150, and this covers a thorough 90-120 minutes together. During this first session, we’ll dive deep into your health history and begin mapping out the path forward. Follow-up visits are $90 and last 45-60 minutes, allowing us to continue this journey in a way that meets your unique needs. This cost covers any treatment modality we may use during our time together, such as acupuncture, cupping, or bodywork.

Insurance

For those using insurance, I’m in-network with most major providers, including:

Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield ☯ Providence ☯ United Healthcare ☯ Aetna ☯ Cigna ☯ HealthNet ☯ Moda ☯ Kaiser* ☯ CHP*

The benefit of insurance is that it can reduce out-of-pocket costs and make regular care more accessible. However, insurance coverage is quite complex, and the cost may vary depending on your plan and the services used. Typically, there’s a second office visit co-pay for our initial visit to cover our extra time together as we explore your health history, needs and goals. Additionally, every 5-6 visits, we may do a re-evaluation to review your progress, which could involve a second co-pay.

Insurance usually covers our check-in time and acupuncture services. Certain modalities—such as cupping, gua sha, bodywork, and sometimes moxibustion—may incur an additional fee or co-pay.

*A note for Kaiser/CHP Patients: Unfortunately, Kaiser/CHP do not cover moxibustion, which is an essential part of my acupuncture lineage. All Kaiser/CHP patients will have a $25 moxibustion fee in addition to their co-pay for each visit.

Limited Reduced-Rate Offering

Alongside my standard out-of-pocket and insurance rates, I offer a small number of reduced-rate appointments for individuals with OHP or those experiencing financial hardship. Currently, these scheduled reduced-rate slots are full, but I do offer them on a 24-hour availability basis if an opening arises. If you’d like to receive email notifications about these last-minute openings, please reach out to me at tara@manyriverspdx.com. By signing up, you’ll also be placed on the waitlist for a regular reduced-rate appointment as soon as one becomes available.
